TSI announce the formation of MENA Team at inaugural meeting in Dubai

Jamie Morris, TSI Partner Communications Manager

February, 2017

TSI colleagues from across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) met in Dubai on the 16th of February at the inaugural TSI MENA meeting. One of TSI’s key initiatives for 2017 has been to focus on our regional proposition. This is in direct response to a rising demand from corporate clients for regional consolidation which in 2016 represented more than 60% of client demand (the balance being for global solutions across all continents).

TSI’s Head of International Sales, Paul Spencer, said “When we ask clients about the reasons they prefer regional consolidation, it seems to be powered by three key and highly practical factors. Firstly, it’s just easier in terms of accessing content as well as servicing a regional time zone. Secondly, implementation, software and account management work particularly well when aligned to a strong regional culture. Thirdly, because most clients’ own organisations are also structured that way. ”

The inaugural team meeting was hosted by Samir Andraos, Managing Director of Airlink Travel (TSI UAE) at their Freight and Logistic centre in Jebel Ali (Dubai).

TSI country owners and senior management from the UAE, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Jordan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia convened, with TSI Central Services personnel from London, to review TSI’s MENA strategy and to share best practice and operational initiatives on topics as varied as charters into Libya through to pilgrimage travel. A focus on technology included sessions on locally developed online booking tools, such as AirlinkConnect alongside global Concur implementations in the wider Middle East as well as updates and enhancements to TSI’s own Global Data Analytics System.

Samir Quote

On the creation of the MENA Team Samir highlighted how it has been a natural extension of relationships that have been established for many years “Clients in the Middle East place a strong cultural value on trust and service and the fact our partners across the region are so closely linked reinforces TSI’s commitment to a local solution as well as global solutions”
